STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Veenstra & Kimm has reviewed public improvements for
the Northwest Area Water Main – Phase 2 project and find it in general conformance with the standard
specification for the City of Waukee.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

RESOLUTION 2020-
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE NORTHWEST AREA
WATER MAIN EXTENSION - PHASE 2
WHEREAS, on the 4th day of February, 2019, the Mayor and Clerk of the City of
Waukee, Iowa, entered into a construction contract with Keller Excavating of Boone, IA, for the
construction of certain public improvements generally described as the Northwest Area Water
Main Extension - Phase 2; and
WHEREAS, the contractor has fully completed the construction of the public
improvements in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract and plans and
specifications, as shown by the certificate of the Engineer filed with the Clerk on April 1, 2020:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WAUKEE, STATE OF IOWA:
Section 1.That the report of the Engineer be and the same is hereby approved and
adopted, and the public improvements are hereby approved and accepted as having been fully
completed in accordance with the plans, specifications and form of contract and the total final
construction cost thereof is hereby determined to be $1,373,249.00, as shown in the report of the
Engineer.

NORTHWEST AREA WATER MAIN EXTENSION – PHASE 2
WAUKEE, IOWA
We hereby certify that we have made an on-site review of the completed
construction of the Northwest Area Water Main Extension – Phase 2 project as
performed by Keller Excavating, Inc.
As Engineers for the project, it is our opinion the work performed is in
substantial accordance with the plans and specifications, and that the final
amount of the Contract is One Million Three Hundred Seventy-three Thousand
Two Hundred Forty-nine and 00/100 Dollars ($1,373,249.00).
