HomeMy WebLinkAbout2020-05-11-D01 Ashley Acres Rezoning_Set PH AGENDA ITEM: CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA CITY COUNCIL MEETING COMMUNICATION MEETING DATE: May 11, 2020 AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a Motion to set a Public Hearing Date of June 1, 2020, as the date of public hearing on an ordinance to amend Chapter 169, Zoning Ordinance, City of Waukee, Iowa, by rezoning and changing certain property therein from A-1 Agricultural District to R-2 One and Two Family Residential District [Ashley Acres] FORMAT: Motion SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Staff has received a request from Cardasian Land Company, LLC to rezone 68.79 acres of property located on the west side of Warrior Lane and north of the Sahu Acres subdivision from A-1 Agricultural District to R-2 One and Two Family Residential District. FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT: STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: The applicant has received the required 50.1% consent from surrounding property owners in order to begin the rezoning process. Staff would recommend a public hearing date be set for June 1, 2020, to further discuss the proposed rezoning. RECOMMENDATION: Approve the motion. ATTACHMENTS: I.
