AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a Motion to set a Public Hearing Date of
August 17, 2020, as the date of public hearing on an ordinance to amend
Chapter 169, Zoning Ordinance, City of Waukee, Iowa, by rezoning
certain property from C-1B Large Scale Commercial District and R-3
Multi-Family Residential District/PD-1 Planned Development Overlay to
R-3 Multi-Family Residential District/PD-1 Planned Development
Overlay (Bricktowne at Prairie Crossing)
FORMAT: Motion
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Staff has received a request for rezoning of
approximately 14.95 acres of property located north of Hickman Road
and just west of HyVee. The proposed rezoning includes the existing
Bricktowne at Prairie Crossing development which includes
approximately 11.19 acres plus an additional 3.76 acres to the west of the
original project. The proposed rezoning would allow for the addition of
159 efficiency and micro units to the overall Bricktowne at Prairie
Crossing Development. The applicant has provided the necessary
consents from the adjoining property owners in order to begin the
rezoning process.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:

STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff would recommend a public hearing date be set for
August 17, 2020, to further discuss the proposed changes.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the motion.
