AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of an ordinance to amend Chapter 502, Waukee
Municipal Code, Traffic Regulations of the City of Waukee, Iowa, by
amending Section 502 “Parking Regulations” Certain Public Streets
[introduction; first reading]

SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: City staff conducted an engineering and traffic
investigation on SE Waco Pl from E Hickman Rd to SE University Ave.
Based on the results of the investigation, it was recommended to allow on
street parking along the west side of SE Waco Pl from SE Laurel St to SE
Sagewood Cir and SE Traden Dr to SE Rosewood Dr. This recommendation
is a part of phase one traffic calming measures to be implemented on SE
Waco Pl.

AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 502, WAUKEE MUNICIPAL CODE,
TRAFFIC REGULATIONS OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA, BY AMENDING
SECTION 502 “PARKING REGULATIONS,” CERTAIN PUBLIC STREETS AS
SPECIFIED BELOW
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee has determined that certain public streets should be added
to or eliminated from the no parking ordinances.
BE IT THEREFORE ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Waukee:
Section 1. Chapter 502, Waukee Municipal Code, Traffic Regulations, Section 502.1 is
hereby amended by adding the following streets as follows:
§502.1 No parking is permitted at any time on either side of the following north-
south streets:
SE Waco Place from US 6 (E Hickman Road) to SE Laurel Street, SE
Sagewood Cir to SE Traden Dr, and SE Rosewood Ct to SE Ashworth Rd
Section 2. Chapter 502, Waukee Municipal Code, Traffic Regulations, Section 502.2 is
hereby amended by adding the following streets as follows:
§502.2 No parking is permitted at any time on the east side of the following north-
south streets:
SE Waco Place from SE Laurel St. to SE Sagewood Cir and SE Traden
Dr to SE Rosewood Ct
Section 3. Repealer. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of
this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 4. Severability Clause. If any section, provision or part of this ordinance shall be
adjudged invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance
as a whole or any section, provision, or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional.
Section 5. Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in effect upon its final passage, approval
and publication as provided by law.
