AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a resolution approving Agreement for
Professional Consulting Services with Leland Consulting Group
FORMAT: Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The City previously utilized Leland Consulting
Group to prepare a marketing study for the Kettlestone Development Area which was
completed in 2013. While the information was useful at the time, the data is now out of date
and cannot be utilized when talking with prospective developers.
The proposed Agreement for Professional Services would include an update to the trade
market analysis completed with the first study, a review of the progress to date specific to the
Kettlestone Area and valuable demographic data that can be utilized by the City when
working with developers.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: $45,000
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: The proposed analysis is expected to take
approximately eight weeks to complete.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve Resolution and Agreement.

RESOLUTION 2020-
APPROVING AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL CONSULTING SERVICES WITH
LELAND CONSULTING GROUP
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal
Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, the City requires professional services related to market analysis and demographics
associated with economic development; AND,
WHEREAS, City staff recommends retaining the services of Leland Consulting Group for said
professional consulting services.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee that the
Agreement for Professional Consulting Services with Leland Consulting Group is hereby approved.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee, Iowa, and approved the 19th day of October, 2020.
