SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Koester Construction has completed the improvements
associated with the Alice’s Road Landscape Enhancements Project.

STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: City Staff and Shive Hattery have reviewed the public
improvements for the Alice’s Road Landscape Enhancements Project and find it in general
conformance with the standard specification for the City of Waukee.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

RESOLUTION 2020-
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE ALICE'S ROAD
LANDSCAPE ENHANCEMENTS
WHEREAS, on the 4th day of May, 2020, the Mayor and Clerk of the City of Waukee,
Iowa, entered into a construction contract with Koester Construction Co., Inc., of Grimes, IA, for
the construction of certain public improvements generally described as the Alice's Road Landscape
Enhancements; and
WHEREAS, the contractor has fully completed the construction of the public
improvements in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract and plans and
specifications, as shown by the certificate of the Engineer filed with the Clerk on December 2,
2020
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WAUKEE, STATE OF IOWA:
Section 1.That the report of the Engineer be and the same is hereby approved and adopted,
and the public improvements are hereby approved and accepted as having been fully completed in
accordance with the plans, specifications and form of contract and the total final construction cost
thereof is hereby determined to be $442,677.00, as shown in the report of the Engineer.

We hereby certify that we have made an on-site review
of the construction of the Alice’s Road Landscape
Enhancement project by Koester Construction.
As Engineers and Architects for the project, it is our
opinion that the work performed is in substantial
accordance with the plans and specifications and that the
final amount of the Contract is Four Hundred and Forty
Two Thousand, six hundred and Seventy-Seven, 00/100
Dollars ($442,677.00).
