Agreement Between the City of Waukee, Iowa, and AHeinz57 Pet
Rescue and Transport, Inc., for animal shelter services
FORMAT:Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The Waukee Police Department has submitted a
contract to the Waukee City Council where AHeinz57 will provide
animal control services to the City of Waukee. The Waukee PD has
conducted extensive research on potential options for animal control
services for the city and after careful review recommends that the City of
Waukee enter into a contractual agreement with AHeinz57. The contract
that has been reviewed and approved by the City Attorney, Steve Brick.
If the contract is approved by the City Council AHeinz57 could begin to
provide animal control services in January of 2021.

RESOLUTION 2020-
APPROVING CHAPTER 28E AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF WAUKEE,
IOWA, AND AHEINZ57 PET RESCUE AND TRANSPORT, INC., FOR
ANIMAL SHELTER SERVICES
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Iowa is a duly organized municipality within Dallas
County; AND,
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee desires to enter into an agreement pursuant to Chapter 28E
of the Code of Iowa for animal shelter, care and impoundment services; AND,
WHEREAS, the Waukee Police Department recommends approval of such a Chapter 28E
Agreement with AHeinz Pet Rescue and Transport, Inc., of De Soto, IA; AND,
WHEREAS, legal counsel has reviewed the proposed 28E agreement and finds it
satisfactory;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council that the City
of Waukee hereby approves the Chapter 28E Agreement Between the City of Waukee, Iowa,
and AHeinz57 Pet Rescue and Transport, Inc., for animal shelter services.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee, Iowa, and approved the 7th day of
December, 2020.
