SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: In an effort to remain competitive with the market, retain
talent and maintain equity within the organization, the director compensation
plan has been revised.

STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff recommends approval of the Director Compensation
Plan.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

RESOLUTION 2020-
APPROVAL OF THE COMPENSATION PLAN FOR CITY OF WAUKEE DIRECTOR
LEVEL EMPLOYEES
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal
Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee code section §110.4 states the City shall set, by resolution of
the Council, compensation for City employees whose positions are not represented by the City of
Waukee collective bargaining unit; AND,
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee seeks to balance the need to be prudent with public funds and
remain competitive with the market; AND,
WHEREAS, in an effort to retain talent and maintain equity within the organization; AND,
WHEREAS, the City Administrator and Human Resources Director have reviewed and
recommend approval of the compensation plan for City of Waukee Directors; AND,
WHEREAS, the proposed compensation plan shall be effective January 1, 2021 and shall
remain in effect until such time as a revised compensation plan is presented.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
21st day of December 2020, that the City of Waukee Director compensation plan, which is
attached hereto is hereby approved.
