SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The project bid letting was held at Waukee City Hall
on Wednesday, January 30, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. Seven (7) apparent bids
were received, with the low bid submitted by Ball Team Construction of
Urbandale, IA, in the amount of $441,000.00.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:$441,000.00
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: City staff recommends awarding contract to Ball Team
Construction of Urbandale, IA, in the amount of $441,000.00.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution awarding contract to Ball Team Construction
of Urbandale, IA, in the amount of $441,000.00.

RESOLUTION 19-
RESOLUTION MAKING AWARD OF CONSTRUCTION
CONTRACT FOR THE WAUKEE CITY HALL RENOVATION
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, STATE
OF IOWA:
Section 1.That the following bid for the construction of certain public improvements
described in general as the Waukee City Hall Renovation, described in the plans and
specifications heretofore adopted by this Council on February 4, 2019, be and is hereby
accepted, the same being the lowest responsive, responsible bid received for such work, as
follows:
Contractor: Ball Team Construction of Urbandale, IA
Amount of bid: $441,000.00
Portion of project: All construction work
Section 2.That the Mayor and Clerk are hereby directed to execute the contract with the
contractor for the construction of the public improvements, such contract not to be binding on the
City until approved by this Council.
PASSED AND APPROVED this 4th day of February, 2019.

Waukee City Hall Renovations
Dear Mr. Deets:
Seven (7) bids were received on January 30, 2019 for the above referenced project. We recommend
the City of Waukee waive informalities and irregularities, consider the proposals, and award the contract
to Ball Team LLC on the basis of their low bid of $441,000. This award is subject to submittal of
acceptable bonds and insurance. We are also enclosing a copy of the bid tabulation for your use.
Upon a decision to award, we will proceed with obtaining the agreement, bonds and insurance.
We look forward to working with you and the City of Waukee on the renovation of your city hall. Please
contact me if you have any questions or comments regarding the project or this recommendation.
