AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of a resolution approving Transportation
Agreement for Iowa EMS Non-Transport Service Programs
FORMAT:Consent Agenda
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The SERT provides an Emergency medical response
(EMS) team during certain operations. The team does not operate an
ambulance, according to Iowa code the EMS team must have a written
agreement in place for transporting patients. This agreement satisfies that
requirement. Waukee fire would be providing an ambulance at the scene of an
incident, the agreement is a formality.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: No fiscal impact
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff and city attorney have reviewed and comments have
been addressed.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

RESOLUTION 19-
APPROVING TRANSPORTATION AGREEMENT FOR IOWA EMS
NON-TRANSPORT SERVICE PROGRAMS
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized
Municipal Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, Iowa law requires a non-transportation service program to maintain a
transportation agreement related to ambulance service to provide a planned mechanism for
routine patient transportation; AND,
WHEREAS, the Suburban Emergency Response Team (SERT), Tactical Emergency Medical
Support, proposes a Transportation Agreement with the Emergency Medical Services
Division of the City of Waukee to satisfy this legal requirement; AND,
WHEREAS, the City Attorney has reviewed the agreement and finds it satisfactory.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council that the
Transportation Agreement for Iowa EMS Non-Transport Service Programs is hereby
approved, and the Mayor is authorized to execute the Agreement for and on behalf of the
City.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee, Iowa, and approved this the 19th day of
February, 2019.
