AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of a resolution awarding contract [Westown
Meadows Park Improvement Project]
FORMAT:Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The project bid letting was held at Waukee City Hall
on March 13, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. Four (4) bids were received with the
low base bid from Ball Team, LLC, of Urbandale, IA, in the amount of
$532,639.00.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:$532,639.00
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: City staff recommends deferring award of the contract
for the Westown Meadows Park Project to give the project engineer and
City staff more time to analyze the bid results.
RECOMMENDATION: Defer consideration of awarding contract until the 04/01/2019 regular
meeting.

RESOLUTION MAKING AWARD OF CONSTRUCTION
CONTRACT FOR THE WAUKEE WESTOWN MEADOWS
PARK IMPROVEMENTS
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, STATE
OF IOWA:
Section 1.That the following bid for the construction of certain public improvements
described in general as the Waukee Westown Meadows Park Improvements, described in the
plans and specifications heretofore adopted by this Council on March 18, 2019, be and is hereby
accepted, the same being the lowest responsive, responsible bid received for such work, as
follows:

Section 2.That the Mayor and Clerk are hereby directed to execute the contract with the
contractor for the construction of the public improvements, such contract not to be binding on the
City until approved by this Council.
