Meadows Park Project]

SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The project bid letting was held at Waukee City Hall
on March 13, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Four (4) bids were received with the low
base bid from Ball Team, LLC, in the amount of $532,639.00. The bid
form included three add alternates. Staff is recommending that if
approved that the City of Waukee declines add alternate No. 3 and accept
alternates No. #1 Shelter ($25,102) and No. #2 Swings ($51,977) for a
total lump sum bid of $609,718.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:$609,718.00

RESOLUTION 19-
RESOLUTION MAKING AWARD OF CONSTRUCTION
CONTRACT FOR THE WAUKEE WESTOWN MEADOWS
PARK IMPROVEMENTS
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, STATE
OF IOWA:
Section 1.That the following bid for the construction of certain public improvements
described in general as the Waukee Westown Meadows Park Improvements, described in the
plans and specifications heretofore adopted by this Council on March 18, 2019, be and is hereby
accepted, the same being the lowest responsive, responsible bid received for such work, as
follows:
Contractor: Ball Team, LLC, of Urbandale, IA
Amount of bid: $609,718.00
Portion of project: All construction work
Section 2.That the Mayor and Clerk are hereby directed to execute the contract with the
contractor for the construction of the public improvements, such contract not to be binding on the
City until approved by this Council.
PASSED AND APPROVED this 1st day of April, 2019.

Waukee Westown Meadows Park
Dear Mr. Jermier:
Four (4) bids were received on March 12, 2019 for the above referenced project. We recommend the
City of Waukee waive informalities and irregularities, consider the proposals, and award the contract to
Ball Team LLC on the basis of their low bid of $609,718.
The Ball Team LCC bid includes base bid ($532,639), bid alternate #01 Shelter ($25,102) and bid
alternate #02 Swings ($51,977) for a total lump sum bid of $609,718. This award is subject to submittal
of acceptable bonds and insurance. We are also enclosing a copy of the bid tabulation for your use.
Upon a decision to award, we will proceed with obtaining the agreement, bonds and insurance.
We look forward to working with you and the City of Waukee on the Meadows Park Improvement.
