AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of a resolution approving the purchase of a
2020 Chevy Tahoe from Shottenkirk Chevrolet for $35,533.25.
FORMAT:Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The purchase of a 2019 Chevy Tahoe was
approved at the April 15th Council meeting for $35,270; however,
staff has been notified by Shottenkirk that they are no longer able
to order the 2019 model; however they are able to order a 2020
Chevy Tahoe which increases the price by $263.25. Even with the
increase, Shottenkirk remains the low bid for the vehicle. This unit
will replace the existing 2011 Explorer that was moved to the
Assistant Public Works Director, Engineering.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:$35,533.25 This
vehicle is in the current budget.

RESOLUTION 19-
APPROVING THE RECEIPT AND FILE OF THE PURCHASE OF A 2020 CHEVY
TAHOE FROM SHOTTENKIRK CHEVROLET OF WAUKEE, IOWA, IN THE
AMOUNT OF $35,533.25 [WAUKEE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT]
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal
Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, on April 10, 2019, quotes were received and opened by City staff for a vehicle for
use by the Waukee Public Works Director; AND,
WHEREAS, on April 15, 2019, as part of the Consent Agenda, the Waukee City Council
approved the receipt and file of the purchase of a 2019 Chevy Tahoe from Shottenkirk Chevrolet
of Waukee, IA, in the amount of $35,270.00 [Waukee Public Works Department]; AND,
WHEREAS, following approval, City staff was notified by Shottenkirk Chevrolet that the model
quoted is no longer available for order; AND,
WHEREAS, Shottenkirk Chevrolet also notified City staff that a 2020 Chevy Tahoe is available
for order instead, which increases the price by $263.25; AND,
WHEREAS, Shottenkirk Chevrolet remains the low bid for the vehicle.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
6th day of May, 2019, that it hereby approves the receipt and file of the purchase of a 2020 Chevy
Tahoe from Shottenkirk Chevrolet of Waukee, Iowa, in the amount of $35,533.25 [Waukee
Public Works Department].
