AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a resolution approving Professional
Services Agreement with Confluence for Grand Prairie Parkway
Greenbelt Improvements Phase 2
FORMAT: Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON:
The proposed Phase 2 greenbelt improvements are a continuation of the first
phase which included work around the two ponds on the east side of Grand
Prairie Parkway. The Phase 2 project includes trail, landscaping and trail
amenities around the pond located at the intersection of Grand Prairie Parkway
and SE Tallgrass Lane. In addition the project include the extension of a trail for
approximately ½ mile north of SE Tallgrass Lane with a trail connection being
made back to SE Parkview Crossing Drive.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: $118,300.00
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: The project is included within the FY 2020 Capital
Improvements Plan.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

RESOLUTION 19-
APPROVING AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL CONSULTING SERVICES BETWEEN
THE CITY OF WAUKEE AND CONFLUENCE [GRAND PRAIRIE PARKWAY
GREENBELT IMPROVEMENTS PHASE 2]
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal
Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, the fiscal year 2020 Capital Improvements Plan includes the Grand Prairie Parkway
Greenbelt Improvements Phase 2 project that generally consists of trail, landscaping, and lighting
along the west side of Grand Prairie Parkway between SE Tallgrass Lane and SE Parkview Crossing
Drive; AND ,
WHEREAS, in order to proceed forward with implementation, additional design services are
necessary; AND,
WHEREAS, the professional services agreement has been reviewed and approved by the Waukee City
Attorney.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee that the
Agreement for Professional Consulting Services between the City of Waukee and Confluence [Grand
Prairie Parkway Greenbelt Improvements Phase 2], attached hereto as Exhibit A, is hereby approved.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee, Iowa, and approved the 20th day of May, 2019.
