AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of a resolution approving Contract with Edge
Companies [Waukee VFW Hall North Wall Repair]
FORMAT:Consent Agenda
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The City of Waukee owns the building that houses
the Waukee VFW and American Legion. The lease with these entities
includes a provision that the City is responsible for maintaining the
exterior of the building.
In 2015, the City entered into a contract related to repairs to the south
exterior wall. Now, repairs are needed for the north exterior wall.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:$7,586.00
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: City staff recommend approving a contract with Edge
Companies of Grimes, IA, in the amount of $7,586.00 for north wall
repairs.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution

RESOLUTION 19-
APPROVING CONTRACT WITH EDGE COMPANIES
[WAUKEE VFW HALL NORTH WALL REPAIR]
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Iowa is a duly organized municipality within Dallas
County; AND,
WHEREAS, certain repairs are necessary on the north exterior wall at a property owned
by the City of Waukee and addressed as 410 6th Street, also known as the Waukee VFW
Hall; AND,
WHEREAS, City staff recommend approval of a contract with Edge Companies of
Grimes, IA, in the amount of $7,586.00 to address the repairs.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in
session this 3rd day of June, 2018, that it hereby approves the Contract with Edge
Companies [Waukee VFW Hall North Wall Repair].
