AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of an ordinance to amend Chapter 502,
Waukee Municipal Code, Traffic Regulations of the City of Waukee,
Iowa, by amending Section 502, Parking Regulations, certain public
streets as specified [second, third (final) readings]

STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: City staff considers this ordinance to be a housekeeping
matter and recommends approval of the second reading of the ordinance
in title only and waiver of the third reading. The Code of Iowa requires a
vote of not less than three-fourths of all the members of the council (or 4
out of 5, in Waukee’s case) in order to waive readings of an ordinance.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the second reading of the ordinance in title only, waive the
third reading and place the ordinance on final passage.

ORDINANCE NO. ________________
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 502, WAUKEE MUNICIPAL CODE,
TRAFFIC REGULATIONS OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA, BY AMENDING
SECTION 502 “PARKING REGULATIONS,” CERTAIN PUBLIC STREETS AS
SPECIFIED BELOW
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee has determined that certain public streets should be added
to or eliminated from the no parking ordinances.
BE IT THEREFORE ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Waukee:
Section 1. Chapter 502, Waukee Municipal Code, Traffic Regulations, Section 502.3 is
hereby amended by adding the following streets as follows:
§502.3 No parking is permitted at any time on the west side of the following north-
south streets:
NW Charlestown Lane
NW Pine Bluff Circle
NW Mill Springs Drive
Section 2. Chapter 502, Waukee Municipal Code, Traffic Regulations, Section 502.5 is
hereby amended by adding the following streets as follows:
§502.5 No parking is permitted at any time on the either side of the following east-
west streets:
NW Stratford Drive between NW Charlestown Lane and NW 10th Street
NW Sunrise Drive between NW Charlestown Lane and NW 10th Street
Section 3. Chapter 502, Waukee Municipal Code, Traffic Regulations, Section 502.6 should
be and the same is hereby repealed and enacted in lieu thereof is as follows:
§502.6 No parking is permitted on the following streets:
A. No parking is permitted at any time, except as otherwise noted, on the north side of
the following streets:
NW Lexington Drive
Section 4. Repealer. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of
this ordinance are hereby repealed.

Section 5. Severability Clause. If any section, provision or part of this ordinance shall be
adjudged invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance
as a whole or any section, provision, or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional.
Section 6. Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in effect upon its final passage, approval
and publication as provided by law.
