SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The project bid letting was held at Waukee City Hall
on Wednesday, August 28, 2019, at 2:30 p.m. Four (4) apparent bids
were received, with the low bid submitted by Synergy Contracting, LLC,
of Bondurant, IA, in the amount of $257,720.00 ($236,920.00 base bid
and $20,800.00 alternate bid).
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:$257,720.00
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: City staff recommends awarding contract to Synergy
Contracting, LLC, of Bondurant, IA, in the amount of $257,720.00.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution

RESOLUTION MAKING AWARD OF CONSTRUCTION
CONTRACT FOR THE LIFT STATION NO. 3
REHABILITATION PHASE 2 - BACKUP PUMP
REPLACEMENT
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, STATE
OF IOWA:
Section 1.That the following bid for the construction of certain public improvements
described in general as the Lift Station No. 3 Rehabilitation Phase 2 - Backup Pump Replacement,
described in the plans and specifications heretofore adopted by this Council on September 3, 2019,
be and is hereby accepted, the same being the lowest responsive, responsible bid received for such
work, as follows:
Contractor: Synergy Contracting, LLC, of Bondurant, IA
Amount of bid: $257,720.00
Portion of project: All construction work
Section 2.That the Mayor and Clerk are hereby directed to execute the contract with the
contractor for the construction of the public improvements, such contract not to be binding on the
City until approved by this Council.
