AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a Motion to set a Public Hearing Date of
October 7, 2019, as the date of public hearing on an ordinance to amend
Chapter 301, Zoning Ordinance, City of Waukee, Iowa, by rezoning
certain property from M-1 Light Industrial District to M-1 Light
Industrial District and PD-1 Planned Development Overlay (Kinship
Brewing Company)
FORMAT: Motion
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Staff has received a request for a proposed
brewery and tap room to be located on Lot 1 of Stratford Crossing Plat 4.
While the use is permitted under the existing zoning of the property (M-1
Light Industrial), the applicant is requesting consideration to allow for
certain aspects of the site including outdoor space and signage that would
be unique to the specific use and not completely consistent with the
City’s zoning ordinance. The request is to include a Planned
Development Overlay district to address the unique aspects of the
business.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff would recommend a public hearing date be set for
October 7, 2019, to further discuss the proposed changes.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the motion.
