THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
RESOLUTION 19-
APPROVING PARTICIPATION IN FOURMILE CREEK AND WALNUT CREEK
WATERSHED ECOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, State of Iowa, is a duly organized municipal corporation, AND;
WHEREAS, on February 18, 2014, the Waukee City Council approved entering into a 28E
agreement establishing the Walnut Creek Watershed Authority (Resolution #14-049); AND,
WHEREAS, partners within the Watershed Management Authorities of Fourmile Creek and Walnut
Creek will implement major infrastructure and restoration activities to improve water quality and
reduce flood risk; AND,
WHEREAS, an assessment is proposed to measure the existing ecological conditions at three
locations on both streams in order to determine the degree to which water quality and stream health
have been improved, providing a holistic assessment of efforts to date and recommendations for future
management actions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WAUKEE, IOWA:
That the City approves participation in the Fourmile Creek and Walnut Creek
Watershed Ecological Assessment at a cost of $5,000.00.
