MEETING DATE: September 16, 2019
AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of a motion setting October 7, 2019 as the date of
public hearing on an Ordinance to amend Chapter 165, Zoning Regulations,
Administration and Enforcement and Chapter 169 Zoning Regulations,
District Regulations, Waukee, Iowa by adding provisions for Urban Chickens.
FORMAT:Motion
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: At a prior City Council work session, City Council gave
direction to staff to prepare an ordinance which would allow for the housing
of chickens on single family residential properties.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff would recommend approval of the motion to set the
public hearing for October 7, 2019 to further discuss the proposed ordinance.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the motion.
