AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a resolution awarding quote [City Hall
Annex, Interior Improvements]
FORMAT: Consent Agenda
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: At the September 16th City Council Meeting, a lease
was approved for office space for Development Services at 204 W.
Hickman Road. In order to improve the functionality of the space, staff
has proposed minor interior improvements including the removal of a
small conference room, replacement of a portion of the flooring and
painting of the full space.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: $22,543.00
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Due to the size and cost of the project, only formal
quotes were required. Staff received three quotes for the work from the
following:
Ball Team: $32,515.00
Edge Commercial: $22,543.00
Seiler Construction: $22,765.00
It is expected that the work will take approximately four weeks to
complete.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff’s recommendation is to proceed forward with the quote from
Edge Commercial in the amount of $22,543.00.

RESOLUTION 19-
APPROVING QUOTE FOR CITY HALL ANNEX INTERIOR IMPROVEMENTS [204 W.
HICKMAN ROAD]
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal
Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee entered into a lease for property located at 204 W. Hickman Road;
AND,
WHEREAS, it has been determined that some minor interior improvements are required within the
leased property to improve the functionality of the office space; AND,
WHEREAS, City staff requested quotes for interior improvements from local construction companies;
AND,
WHEREAS, having reviewed the submitted quotes, City staff recommends awarding quote for
interior improvements to 204 W. Hickman Road to Edge Companies LLC of Grimes, Iowa in the
amount of $22,543.00.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Waukee that the quotes
for City of Waukee interior improvements as noted above be accepted and approved.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee, Iowa, and approved the 7th day of October, 2019.
