AGENDA ITEM: Public Hearing on the adoption of a proposed Amendment No. 1 of the
Waukee Consolidated Urban Renewal Plan
FORMAT: Public Hearing
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Over the years, the City Council has established
several separate Urban Renewal Areas which include the Gateway
Economic Development Urban Renewal Area, Waukee West Urban
Renewal Area and Waukee Central Urban Renewal Area. The objective
of the Consolidated Urban Renewal Plan is to combine the three
previously created separate urban renewal areas into one consolidated
district. This is being done to maximize the future expenditure of
incremental property tax revenues necessary to promote economic
development throughout the City.
Amendment #1 includes the addition of some of the property that is
proposed to be removed from the Unified Urban Renewal Area as a part
of Amendment #9.

STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: In accordance with State Code, staff held a consultation
with the other taxing entities affected by this plan. There was no one in
attendance at the consultation.
RECOMMENDATION: Hold the Public Hearing
