Amendment between Iowa Economic Development Authority; Express
Logistics, Inc., and Westwood Properties.; and the City of Waukee
[Economic Development Assistance Contract No. 15-DF/TC-005]

SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Express Logistics has negotiated an amendment
with the Iowa Economic Development Authority for a contract with the
High Quality Jobs program extending the time to meet job requirements
under the contract.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: N/A
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT: N/A
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: City is a party to this contract so approving this
amendment by the City is needed. This amendment has no financial
impact to the City.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
RESOLUTION 19-
APPROVING CONTRACT AMENDMENT BETWEEN IOWA ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY; EXPRESS LOGISTICS, INC., AND WESTWOOD
PROPERTIES; AND THE CITY OF WAUKEE [ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
ASSISTANCE CONTRACT NO. 15-DF/TC-005]
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal
Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, in 2014, the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA), Express Logistics,
Inc., and the City of Waukee entered into a contract as part of the State of Iowa’s High Quality
Jobs Program; AND,
WHEREAS, Express Logistics, Inc., has requested an extension of the Project Completion Date
to allow them to meet or exceed the number of positions required as part of the contract; AND,
WHEREAS, IEDA has provided a Contract Amendment to address the amendment.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council that the
Contract Amendment between Iowa Economic Development Authority; Express Logistics, Inc.,
and Westwood Properties; and the City of Waukee [Economic Development Assistance Contract
No. 15-DF/TC-005] is hereby approved and that the Mayor is authorized to execute the same on
behalf of the City.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee, Iowa, and approved this the 4th day of
November, 2019.
