HomeMy WebLinkAbout2019-11-04-J01N VFW North Wall Repair_Change Order 1AGENDA ITEM: CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA CITY COUNCIL MEETING COMMUNICATION MEETING DATE: November 4, 2019 AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of Change Order No. 1 to Edge Commercial, LLC, for the VFW North Wall Repair Project increasing the contract in the amount of $14,390.00 FORMAT:Consent Agenda SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: On June 3, 2019, the Waukee City Council approved a contract with Edge Companies in the amount of $7,586.00 to make certain repairs on the north exterior wall of the Waukee VFW Hall (410 6th St.). Once the project began, additional degradation issues with the building structure were discovered. At the request of City staff, Edge Companies revised their scope of work to address these additional issues, increasing the contract to a total of $21,976.00 (a $14,390.00 increase over the initial contract). FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:$14,390.00 COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT: STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Approve Change Order No. 1 RECOMMENDATION: Approve the change order. Staff contacted the design professional to create a revised supplemental drawing and scope of work. Edge Commercial revised its scope of work based upon the new supplemental drawings and presented a revised contract amount. Staff reviewed the revised scope and authorized the revised repair to proceed. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
