AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of a resolution approving the temporary
closing of NE Gracewood Drive/NE Cardinal Lane from 195 NE
Gracewood Drive east and south to 465 NE Cardinal Lane between the
hours of 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2018, with
alternate dates of Monday, January 8, 2018 and Tuesday, January 9,
2018

SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: On December 11, 2017, the Waukee City Council
approved a request by resident George Springer for a December 20,
2017, temporary closing of the street in front of his residence to allow for
the delivery and installation by crane of a hot tub. The delivery was not
able to take place and Mr. Springer requests a January 5, 2018, street
closing for the rescheduled delivery, with January 8 and January 9, 2018,
as alternate dates.

STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: All relevant departments approve of the application.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

APPROVING THE TEMPORARY CLOSING OF NE GRACEWOOD DRIVE/NE
CARDINAL LANE FROM 195 NE GRACEWOOD DRIVE EAST AND SOUTH TO 465
NE CARDINAL LANE BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 10:00 A.M. AND 3:00 P.M. ON
FRIDAY, JANUARY 5, 2018, WITH ALTERNATE DATES OF MONDAY, JANUARY 8,
2018 AND TUESDAY, JANUARY 9, 2018
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal
Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, on December 11, 2017, the Waukee City Council approved a request by George
Springer, 485 NE Cardinal Lane, for the temporary closing of NE Gracewood Drive/NE Cardinal
Lane from 195 NE Gracewood Drive east and south to 465 NE Cardinal Lane between the hours
of 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 (Resolution #17-568); AND,
WHEREAS, the delivery was unable to take place on December 20, 2017, and Mr. Springer
requests a new date for temporary street closing of Friday, January 5, 2018, with alternate dates
of Monday, January 8 and Tuesday, January 9, 2018; AND,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Code of Iowa §364.12(2)(a), public ways and grounds may be
temporarily closed by resolution.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
2nd day of January, 2018, that it hereby approves the temporary closing of NE Gracewood
Drive/NE Cardinal Lane from 195 NE Gracewood Drive east and south to 465 NE Cardinal Lane
between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2018, with alternate dates of
Monday, January 8, 2018 and Tuesday, January 9, 2018.
