RECOMMENDATION: The Mayor shall present the proclamation to Joe Schmidt.

PROCLAMATION
IN RECOGNITION OF JOE SCHMIDT’S SERVICE AS A CITY
OF WAUKEE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSIONER
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, Joe Schmidt was first appointed to the City of Waukee Planning and
Zoning Commission in January 2003; AND,
WHEREAS, after 15 years of distinguished service, Joe has chosen to step down
from the Planning and Zoning Commission; AND,
WHEREAS, prior to serving on the Planning and Zoning Commission, Joe was a
two-term member of the Waukee Public Library Board of Trustees; AND,
WHEREAS, Joe’s exemplary service on the Planning and Zoning Commission over
the course of unprecedented growth has helped to shape and direct positive
community expansion and development; AND,
WHEREAS, his leadership and commitment to thoughtful planning have been vital
in assisting the Waukee City Council to make informed development decisions.
NOW THEREFORE I, William F. Peard, Mayor of the City of Waukee, do hereby
recognize Joe Schmidt for his years of service as a Planning and Zoning
Commissioner and express my sincere appreciation for his work to establish and
maintain progressive development in the community.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto
subscribed my name and caused the Great Seal of
the City of Waukee to be affixed this March 5,
2018.
