AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of a resolution establishing the City of Waukee
FY2019 compensation plan [Directors, Non-Represented Employees, Library
Employees, Paid On-Call Firefighters]
FORMAT:Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The Human Resource Director has reviewed the City’s
current compensation plans to determine internal equity. The Human
Resource Director also surveyed other city organizations comparable in
population and/or proximity to the City of Waukee. Four separate
compensation plans have been revised: Directors, Non-Represented Staff,
Library and POC Firefighters.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: The Human Resource Director recommends approval of the
FY19 compensation plan for Directors, the FY19 compensation plan for Non
Union Staff, the FY19 compensation plan for Library and the FY19
compensation plan for POC Firefighters.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

ESTABLISHING THE CITY OF WAUKEE FY2019 COMPENSATION PLAN
[DIRECTORS, NON-REPRESENTED EMPLOYEES, LIBRARY EMPLOYEES, PAID
ON-CALL FIREFIGHTERS]
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Iowa is a duly organized municipality within Dallas County;
AND,
WHEREAS, per City of Waukee Code Section §110.4 the City Council shall annually review
and approve proposed compensation for City employees whose positions are not represented by
the City of Waukee Collective Bargaining Unit; AND,
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the Fiscal Year 2019 compensation plan for City of
Waukee directors, non-represented employees, library employees, and paid on-call firefighters;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
5th day of March, 2018, that the FY2019 compensation plans for directors (attached hereto as
Exhibit A) non-represented employees (attached hereto as Exhibit B), library employees
(attached hereto as Exhibit C), and paid on-call firefighters (attached hereto as Exhibit D), are
hereby approved.
