CITY COUNCIL MEETING COMMUNICATION
MEETING DATE: March 19, 2018
AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a motion setting April 2, 2018 as the date of
public hearing on an Ordinance to amend Chapter 301, Zoning Ordinance,
City of Waukee, Iowa by adding provisions for solar energy systems.
FORMAT: Motion
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: At a prior City Council work session, City Council gave
direction to staff to prepare an ordinance which would allow for the use of
solar energy on accessory structures. This direction was based upon the
request as presented by Fridley Theaters as a part of their development
project.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff would recommend approval of the motion to set the
public hearing for April 2, 2018 to further discuss the proposed ordinance.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the motion.
