Proposed Ordinance PREPARED BY: Becky Schuett REVIEWED BY: PUBLIC NOTICE INFORMATION – NAME OF PUBLICATION: DATE OF PUBLICATION: J3 1 ORDINANCE NO. 18-____ AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 203, WAUKEE MUNICIPAL CODE, BY REPEALING THE EXISTING RATES FOR WATER AND ENACTING NEW RATES AS SPECIFIED BELOW: WHEREAS, due to the increased costs of providing water the City of Waukee has determined to change the rates for water usage. BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Waukee: Section 1: Chapter 203, Waukee Municipal Code, Sections 203.2(A) and (B) should be and the same are hereby repealed and enacted in lieu thereof are as follows: §203.2 Water Rates. Water shall be furnished at the following monthly rates per meter within the city limits: A.Beginning July 1, 2018, a minimum monthly bill of $11.61 shall be charged for zero to 1,000 gallons of metered water usage per month. B.Beginning July 1, 2018, water usage in excess of the minimum (1,000 gallons) will be charged at a rate of $7.89 per 1,000 gallons per month. Section 2 Repealer. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 3. Severability Clause. If any section, provision or part of this ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole or any section, provisions or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional. Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in effect on July 1, 2018 after its final passage, approval and publication as provided by law.
