SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The Public Works Director and Human
Resource Director recommend approval of a Memorandum of
Understanding signed by the CWA which modifies the pay rates for
three Public Works Department employees and places them in newly
created open positions.

RESOLUTION 18-
APPROVING A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH COMMUNICATIONS
WORKERS OF AMERICA (CWA), LOCAL #7102, AFL-CIO, AS PART OF THE JULY 1,
2016 – JUNE 30, 2021 CONTRACT
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal
Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, on May 23, 2016, the Waukee City Council approved a Collective Bargaining
Agreement with the Communications Workers of America (CWA), Local #7102, AFL-CIO, in effect
July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2021 (Resolution #16-219); AND,
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee and representatives of CWA, Local #7102, have reviewed and
approve a Memorandum of Understanding which modifies the pay rates for three Public Works
Department employees and places them in newly created open positions; AND;
WHEREAS, the Memorandum of Understanding is attached hereto and by reference incorporated
herein;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this 2nd day
of July, 2018, that the Memorandum of Understanding with Communications Workers of America
(CWA), Local #7102, AFL-CIO, as part of the July 1, 2016 – June 30, 2021 contract, is hereby
approved.
