AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a resolution awarding quote [Waukee
Public Library Envelope Improvement Project]
FORMAT: Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Quotes for the library exterior envelope improvement
project were accepted on June 26, 2018. Two (2) quotes were received.
Edge Companies of Grimes, Iowa submitted the lowest quote in the
amount of $80,680.00.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: $80,680.00
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: City staff recommends awarding contract to Edge
Companies of Grimes, Iowa in the amount of $80,680.00. The architects
estimate of the proposed improvements was $97,000.00.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution awarding contract to Edge Companies of
Grimes, Iowa in the amount of $80,680.00.

RESOLUTION MAKING AWARD OF CONSTRUCTION
QUOTE FOR WAUKEE PUBLIC LIBRARY ENVELOPE
IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,
STATE OF IOWA:
Section 1. That the following bid for the construction of certain public improvements
described in general as the Waukee Public Library Envelope Improvement Project, described in
the plans and specifications heretofore adopted by this Council on July 23, 2018, be and is
hereby accepted, the same being the lowest responsive, responsible qoute received for such
work, as follows:

Portion of project:
All construction work
Section 2. That the Mayor and Clerk are hereby directed to execute the contract with the
contractor for the construction of the public improvements, such contract not to be binding on the
City until approved by this Council.
