AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of a Fireworks Display Application for the
Waukee Band Parents for October 13, 2018, beginning at approximately
9:30 p.m. and ending at approximately 10:00 p.m. at Waukee Stadium,
950 Ashworth Dr.
FORMAT:Consent Agenda
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Jon Rech has applied for a fireworks permit on behalf
of the Waukee Band Parents. The group wishes to have a brief display
during the 10/13/2018 Waukee Marching Invitational. The display is
run by J&M Displays and is similar to displays approved by the City
Council in the past for the same event.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:$10.00 permit fee
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: The applicant has provided the necessary Certificate of
Liability Insurance. Police, Fire, and Public Works Departments have
reviewed the application and find no reason to deny the permit at this
time.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the fireworks display permit.

This is for a short display that is done at the end of the marching band competition. It will be the same as we have done for
the past several years. J&M Displays is currently finalizing the insurance information and it will be provided shortly.
Describe in as much detail as possible.
Provide evidence of insurance covering permit holder and agents for display in the amounts as specified in
Waukee Municipal Code 622.1(2).
