AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of a resolution approving the temporary
closing of certain public streets for The Waukee Ten event on Saturday,
September 15, 2018
FORMAT:Consent Agenda
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The temporary street closings are related to the
Waukee Ten event, consisting of a 10-mile run and a separate 5K run,
scheduled for Saturday, September 15, along various City streets.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:

STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Iowa Code §364.12(2)(a) states that public ways and
grounds may be temporarily closed by resolution.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

RESOLUTION 17-371
APPROVING THE TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CERTAIN PUBLIC STREETS FOR
THE WAUKEE TEN EVENT
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal
Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, Pasha Korsakov proposes the Waukee Ten event, including a 10-mile race and a
separate 5K race, the routes for which will take participants along various City streets; AND,
WHEREAS, Mr. Korsakov requests that the following City streets be closed on Saturday,
September 15, 2018, and at the times specified for the event:

WHEREAS, pursuant to §364.12(2)(a), public ways and grounds may be temporarily closed by
resolution;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
20th day of August, 2018, that it hereby approves the temporary closing of certain public streets
for the Waukee Ten Event.
