AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of resolution approving easements related to
Stratford Crossing Plat 4 [Raccoon River Valley Trail]
FORMAT: Consent Agenda
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Several easements were required related to the
Stratford Crossing Development property adjacent to the Raccoon River
Valley Trail. The developer is making the improvements related to the
necessary easement areas, however, the easements are in favor of the
City of Waukee. The easement forms are the City’s standard forms.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:

STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Dallas County Board of Supervisors has already
approved the resolutions.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

RESOLUTION 18-
APPROVING EASEMENTS RELATED TO STRATFORD CROSSING PLAT 4 [RACCOON
RIVER VALLEY TRAIL]
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal
Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee has previously approved a preliminary plat for Stratford Crossing
Plat 4 which includes property adjacent to the Raccoon River Valley Trail owned by Dallas County;
AND,
WHEREAS, as a part of development of the plat, certain easements are necessary related to
improvements and grading on the Raccoon River Valley Trail property; AND,
WHEREAS, Dallas County Board of Supervisors have agreed to provide the following easements for
the completion of improvements associated with Stratford Crossing Plat 4:
1. Public Sanitary Sewer Easement;
2. Overland Flowage Easement;
3. Public Storm Sewer Easement;
4. Trail Access Easement;
5. Roadway Easement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee, Iowa on this
4th day of September, 2018, that the easements related to Stratford Crossing Plat 4 across the Raccoon
River Valley Trail are hereby accepted and approved by the City Council of the City of Waukee.
