AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of a resolution approving temporary
compensation for Interim Human Resource Director
FORMAT:Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: City Administrator Moerman has appointed
Human Resource Specialist Toni Coughlin to act as Interim Human
Resource Director, in addition to her regular duties. As such, he
recommends additional temporary compensation for performance of
additional duties.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:$40.34 per hour
effective September 1, 2018, and continuing for the period during which
she serves as Interim Human Resource Director. Coughlin’s current rate
of pay as Human Resource Specialist is $29.07 per hour.

THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
RESOLUTION 18-
APPROVING TEMPORARY COMPENSATION FOR THE
INTERIM HUMAN RESOURCE DIRECTOR
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal
Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, the City Administrator has appointed Human Resource Specialist Toni Coughlin to
act as Interim Human Resource Director, in addition to her regular duties; AND,
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Administrator and Waukee City Council to provide
appropriate compensation related to the employee’s performance of those additional duties for
the period during which she shall act as Interim Human Resource Director.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
10th day of September, 2018, that Toni Coughlin be temporarily compensated at a rate of $40.34
per hour, effective September 1, 2018, and continuing for the period she serves as Interim
Human Resource Director.
