MEETING DATE: September 17, 2018
AGENDA ITEM: Public Hearing on the annexation of consenting property by the City of
Waukee, Iowa, with consideration of the annexation taking place
immediately thereafter (Mark/Martens Property).
FORMAT: Public Hearing
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Larry and Jean Mark and Gordon and Nona
Martens have submitted a voluntary annexation petition of approximately 8 acres of property that
is located west of Ute Avenue and approximately R-16 and approximately 1/4 mile south of
Interstate 80. The property is contiguous to the existing City limits to the north, west and south.
The proposed annexation is considered within an urbanized area as it is within two miles
of the City of West Des Moines.

STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff would recommend holding the public hearing.
RECOMMENDATION: Hold the public hearing
