SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The project bid letting was held at Waukee City Hall
on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. Seven (7) apparent
bids were received, with the low bid submitted by Air-Con Mechanical
Corporation of Des Moines, IA, in the base bid amount of $132,327.00.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:$132,327.00
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: City staff recommends awarding contract to Air-Con
Mechanical Corporation of Des Moines, IA, in the base bid amount of
$132,327.00.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution awarding contract to Air-Con Mechanical
Corporation of Des Moines, IA, in the base bid amount of $132,327.00.

RESOLUTION MAKING AWARD OF CONSTRUCTION
CONTRACT FOR THE WAUKEE PUBLIC LIBRARY RTU
REPLACEMENT PROJECT
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, STATE
OF IOWA:
Section 1.That the following bid for the construction of certain public improvements
described in general as the Waukee Public Library RTU Replacement Project, described in the
plans and specifications heretofore adopted by this Council on December 17, 2018, be and is
hereby accepted, the same being the lowest responsive, responsible bid received for such work,
as follows:
Contractor: Air-Con Mechanical Corp. of Des Moines, IA
Amount of bid: $132,327.00
Portion of project: All construction work
Section 2.That the Mayor and Clerk are hereby directed to execute the contract with the
contractor for the construction of the public improvements, such contract not to be binding on the
City until approved by this Council.
PASSED AND APPROVED this 17th day of December, 2018.
