AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a motion setting date and time for
appointment to fill a vacant seat on the Waukee City Council
FORMAT: Motion
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: At the 01/11/2017 special meeting, the City Council
moved to fill Rick Peterson’s vacant council seat by appointment for the
remainder of his unexpired term (12/31/2017).
In order to comply with State law, the City Council must select a date for
a meeting at which they will appoint to fill the vacancy. State law also
mandates that a notice must be published no less than four (4) and no
more than twenty (20) days prior to the date established for appointment.
