AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of approval of a resolution approving an Iowa
Department of Transportation Federal Aid Agreement for a Surface
Transportation Project [Alice’s Road Phase 5]
FORMAT: Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The City has previously received federal funds
in the amount of $1.4 million related to the Alice’s Road Phase 5 project
which is for the widening of Alice’s Road from just north of Olson Drive
to just north of Hickman Road. The project is expected to be constructed
in 2018.
Because federal funds are involved, the project will need to be let
through the Department of Transportation. The attached agreement
provided for the provisions for the use of the federal dollars and the
process that must be followed.

RESOLUTION 17-
APPROVING AN IOWA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FEDERAL AID
AGREEMENT FOR A SURFACE TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM PROJECT
[ALICE’S ROAD PHASE 5]
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal
Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, the City received Surface Transportation Priorities Projects funds in the amount of
$1,400,000 for the Alice’s Road Phase 5 project from 420 feet north of Olson Drive to 1,000 feet
north of Hickman Road; AND,
WHEREAS, the Iowa Department of Transportation has provided a Federal Aid Agreement for
a Surface Transportation Program Project that outlines the requirements the City must fulfill in
order to be eligible for federal funding for the Alice’s Road Phase 5 Project; AND,
WHEREAS, the City Attorney has reviewed the agreement and finds it satisfactory.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee that the
Iowa Department of Transportation Federal Aid Agreement for a Surface Transportation
Program Project is hereby approved.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee, Iowa, and approved the 6th day of February,
2017.
