AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a purchase of a reconditioned scissor lift from
Duke Aerial Equipment for Public Works building in the amount of
$10,500.00.
FORMAT: Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: This lift will be used for general maintenance of the
Public Works building. Currently, the public works is spending
approximately $2,000 a year in rental of lift for annual mechanical service and
overhead door repair. With the reconditioned price, this is a 5 year payback
on rental fees.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COSTBENEFIT ANALYSIS: The current Public Works
building maintenance budget is $80,000 to offset the purchase of the lift. The
budget will be reduced to $77,500 over the next 4 years.

APPROVING PURCHASE OF A RECONDITIONED SCISSOR LIFT FROM
DUKE AERIAL EQUIPMENT OF DES MOINES, IA, IN THE AMOUNT OF
$10,500.00 [WAUKEE PUBLIC WORKS FACILITY]
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Iowa is a duly organized municipality within Dallas
County; AND,
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee Public Works Department recommends the purchase
of a reconditioned scissor lift from Duke Aerial Equipment in the amount of
$10,500.00; AND,
WHEREAS, the proposed purchase will be used for general maintenance of the
Waukee Public Works Facility.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in
session this 21 sc day of February, 2017, that it hereby approves purchase of a
reconditioned scissor lift from Duke Aerial Equipment in the amount of $10,500.00
[Waukee Public Works Facility].

All Duke Aerial used equipment is guaranteed to work regardless of its cosmetic condition.
30 Day Limited Warranty: (Used Equipment) Warranty coverage includes all parts and labor from 30
days of purchase.
1 Year Limited Warranty: (Refurbished Equipment) Warranty coverage includes all parts and labor
from 365 days of purchase.
Certain components, including, but not limited to, engines, tires and batteries, which may be a part of the
product are not manufactured or warranted by Duke Aerial Inc. Any applicable warranty for such
components is provided through the original manufacturer of the component or its distributor organization
This warranty is limited to parts and labor only, and excludes and does not cover the following:
• Failure of parts or components resulting from misuse, improper adjustment, lack of
maintenance or lubrication.
• Damage or failure from not being used correctly or for its intended purpose as specifically
described in the manufacturers operations manual.
• Damage from overloading or exceeding the manufacturer's weight and load limits.
• Components or assemblies on the equipment that have been modified or altered by the
buyer.
• Damage to the equipment while being crated or transported by a third party.
• Damage from use of incorrect fuels, fluids and oils.
• Consequential damage, lost productive hours, inconvenience and contingent liabilities.
• Damages caused from natural disasters such as floods, tornados, fires, hurricanes, riots
and acts of terrorism.
Note: This warranty is applicable to the original buyer listed and cannot be transferred to subsequent
owners. Used equipment approved for warranty work must be located within 100 miles of a Duke Aerial
branch; otherwise it is the customer's responsibility to transport the equipment to the closest Duke Aerial
branch location.
* Only persons specifically authorized by Duke Aerial shall perform warranty work on used equipment.
