SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: As a requirement for the Indiana Bat nesting requirement,
trees for the South Outfall Trunk Sewer must be cut down before April I".
Quotes were received on February 15 for the South Outfall Tree Felling
Project with J&K Contracting, LLC the apparent lower bidder in the amount
of $28,500.

IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WA UKEE, IOWA
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF WAUKEE, IOWA:
That the following quote for certain public improvements described in general as the South
Outfall Sewer Tree Felling Project and described in the Request for Quotes that was provided to
vendors be and is hereby accepted, the same being the lowest responsible quote received for such
work, as follows:
Contractor: J & K Contracting, LLC, of Ames, IA
Amount of quote: $28,500.00
PASSED AND APPROVED, this 2 1 " day of February, 2017.

RECOMMENDATION TO AWARD CONTRACT
The City of Waukee received quotes until 2:30 P.M. on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 for
the South Outfall Tree Felling Project. A total of five quotations were received as follows:

The apparent low quotation was submitted by J&K Contracting, LLC of Ankeny, Iowa in the
amount of $28,500.
The Engineer's Estimate of Cost for the project was $40,000.
Our recommendation is to award the contract to J&K Contracting, LLC in the amount of
$28,500.
