AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a resolution approving mayor’s
appointment of the City of Waukee alternate member to the Dallas
County Emergency Management Commission and E-911 Commission
for the Year 2017
FORMAT: Mayor’s Appointment and Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: On 01/03/2017, Mayor Peard appointed Fire
Chief Clint Robinson as primary member and Police Chief John Quinn
as alternate to the Dallas County Emergency Management Commission
and E-911 Commission. However, the commissions require an elected
official to be appointed.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: The Mayor will announce his appointment of a council
member as the alternate to both commissions.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the appointment.

RESOLUTION 17-
APPROVING THE MAYOR’S APPOINTMENT OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE
ALTERNATE MEMBER TO THE DALLAS COUNTY EMERGENCY
MANAGEMENT COMMISSION AND E-911 COMMISSION FOR THE YEAR 2017
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Iowa is a duly organized municipality within Dallas
County; AND,
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee is a member of both the Dallas County Emergency
Management Commission and Dallas County E-911 Commission; AND,
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the Mayor to appoint an elected official as alternate member
to the Dallas County Emergency Management Commission and Dallas County E-911
Commission; AND,
WHEREAS, Mayor William F. Peard appoints ___________ as alternate member to both the
Dallas County Emergency Management Commission and Dallas County E-911 Commission.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session
this 21st day of February, 2017, that it hereby approves the Mayor’s appointment of alternate
member to the Dallas County Emergency Management Commission and Dallas County E-911
Commission.
