AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a resolution approving job description and pay
grade for Information Technology Director
FORMAT: Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: As the City of Waukee continues to grow, the technology
needs of the organization have grown in volume and complexity. To assist
the staff in serving the citizens, it is important to have immediate access to
solutions for information technology problems and projects.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: The City Administrator and Human Resource Director
recommend approval of the creation of a new position and job description for
the position of Information Technology (IT) Director.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

RESOLUTION 17-
APPROVING JOB DESCRIPTION AND PAY GRADE
[INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DIRECTOR]
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal
Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, the City Administrator proposes the creation of a non-represented, full-time
Information Technology Director position; AND,
WHEREAS, the pay grade for the position shall be Grade D7; AND,
WHEREAS, the City Administrator and Human Resource Director recommend establishing the
position and approving the job description and pay grade.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee, Iowa on
this 6th day of March, 2017, that it hereby approves the job description and pay grade for
Information Technology Director.
