AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a resolution establishing the FY2018
compensation plan for City of Waukee directors and non-represented
employees
FORMAT: Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The Human Resource Department has reviewed the City’s
current compensation plans to determine internal equity. The Human
Resource Director also surveyed other city organizations comparable in
population and/or proximity to the City of Waukee. Two separate
compensation plans have been revised, one for Directors and one for Non-
Union Staff.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: The Human Resource Director recommends approval of the
FY18 Compensation plan for Directors and the FY18 Compensation plan for
Non-Union staff.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

RESOLUTION 17-
ESTABLISHING FY2018 COMPENSATION PLAN FOR CITY OF WAUKEE
DIRECTORS AND NON-REPRESENTED EMPLOYEES
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Iowa is a duly organized municipality within Dallas County;
AND,
WHEREAS, per City of Waukee Code Section §110.4 the City Council shall annually review
and approve proposed compensation for City employees whose positions are not represented by
the City of Waukee Collective Bargaining Unit; AND,
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the Fiscal Year 2018 compensation plan for City of
Waukee directors and other non-represented staff;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
6th day of March, 2017, that the FY2018 compensation plan for directors, which is attached
hereto as Exhibit A, and the FY2018 compensation plan for non-represented employees, which is
attached hereto as Exhibit B, are hereby approved.
