AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a resolution establishing the compensation plan
for City of Waukee Paid On-Call Firefighters
FORMAT: Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The Human Resource Department has reviewed the City’s
current compensation plan for Paid-on-Call Firefighters to determine internal
equity. The Human Resource Director also surveyed other city organizations
comparable in population and/or proximity to the City of Waukee.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: The Human Resource Director recommends approval of
the Compensation plan for Paid-on-Call Firefighters to remain in effect until a
revised compensation plan is presented.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

RESOLUTION 17
ESTABLISHING THE COMPENSATION PLAN FOR CITY OF WAUKEE PAID
ON-CALL FIREFIGHTERS
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal
Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, the Waukee Fire Chief and Human Resource Director have reviewed and
recommend approval of the compensation plan for City of Waukee Paid On-Call Firefighters;
AND,
WHEREAS, the proposed compensation plan shall be effective July 1, 2017 and shall remain in
effect until such time as a revised compensation plan is presented.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
6th day of March, 2017, that the City of Waukee Paid On-Call Firefighter compensation plan,
which is attached hereto as Exhibit A, is hereby approved.
