SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The project bid letting was held at Waukee City Hall
on March 15, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. Three (3) apparent bids were received,
with the low bid submitted by Paco Construction, Inc., of Runnells, IA,
in the amount of $147,190.00.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: $147,190.00
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: City staff recommends awarding contract to Paco
Construction, Inc., of Runnells, IA, in the amount of $147,190.00.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution awarding contract to Paco Construction, Inc.,
of Runnells, IA, in the amount of $147,190.00.

RESOLUTION MAKING AWARD OF CONSTRUCTION
CONTRACT FOR THE NORTH 10TH TRAILHEAD PARKING
LOT
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,
STATE OF IOWA:
Section 1. That the following bid for the construction of certain public improvements
described in general as the North 10th Trailhead Parking Lot, described in the plans and
specifications heretofore adopted by this Council on March 20, 2017, be and is hereby accepted,
the same being the lowest responsive, responsible bid received for such work, as follows:

Paco Construction, Inc.,

Amount of bid:
$147,190.00
Portion of project:
All construction work
Section 2. That the Mayor and Clerk are hereby directed to execute the contract with the
contractor for the construction of the public improvements, such contract not to be binding on the
City until approved by this Council.

RECOMMENDATION TO AWARD CONTRACT
The City of Waukee received bids until 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 for the
North 10th Trailhead Parking Lot. A total of three bids were received as follows:

OMG Midwest, Inc. $157,329
The Engineer's Estimate of cost for the construction of the project was $152,340.
We recommend the City of Waukee award the contract to Paco Construction LLC in the
amount of $147,190.
