AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a motion setting April 3, 2017 as date of
public hearing on an Ordinance to Repeal Chapter 222 of the Municipal
Code of the City of Waukee, Iowa and to adopt by reference the 2015
Edition of the International Building Codes with local amendments.
FORMAT: Motion
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON:
City staff participated with other code and fire officials across the Metro as a part of the Code
Consortium over the past 18 months. The outcome of the Consortium was to recommend
adoption of the 2015 Edition of the International Building Codes. Staff has prepared the revisions
including local revisions related to the 2015 Edition of the International Building Codes and is
recommending a public hearing date be set to further discuss their adoption.
