AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a motion setting June 5, 2017 as the date of
public hearing on the annexation of properties by the City of Waukee, Iowa
with consideration of the annexation taking place immediately thereafter
[Interstate 80 Business Park]
FORMAT: Motion
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Staff has received a voluntary petition for annexation for
property located directly south of Interstate 80 and west of R-22. In order to
bring the property into the City, three additional properties must also be
brought in at the same time to avoid the creation of an island. Staff continues
to be in contact with those property owners in an effort to bring them in
voluntarily as well. Alternatively, those three properties may need to be
brought in utilizing the 80-20 annexation process.

STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff would recommend setting a public hearing date for
June 5, 2017 to further discuss the annexation proposal.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the motion.
