AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a motion setting May 30, 2017 as the date of
public hearing on an ordinance to amend Chapter 301, Zoning Ordinance,
City of Waukee, Iowa regarding Fireworks Sales
FORMAT: Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: With the recent change in State Code regarding the sale
and use of fireworks, staff has proposed revisions to the Zoning Ordinance to
provide guidance on permitted locations for the sales and distribution of
fireworks.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff would recommend a public hearing be set for May 30,
2017 to further discuss the proposed Ordinance.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Motion
