AGENDA ITEM: Public Hearing on a proposed land transfer to the Waukee Community School
District pursuant to the terms of a 28E Agreement
FORMAT: Public Hearing
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: In 2016, the City entered into a 28E Agreement with
the Waukee Community School District regarding the planning and
development of a joint high school and recreation complex. Per the terms of
the 28E, the City proceeded forward with the acquisition of 80 acres located
east of 10th Street (R-22) and approximately ½ mile north of Hickman Road.
The funds for the acquisition of the property were provided by the Waukee
Community School District.
The property closed in November 2016, and the City needs to proceed with
the transfer of the property acquired to date to the Waukee Community School
District.
